Passive Infra-Red Movement Detector (PIR)
The movement detector is for either intruder detection or to monitor my activity through the day or night.
Door Entry / Exit Kepypad
Used with door contacts and a PIN code to arm/disarm a door, this device allows controlled entry through a door. Should the door be opened without the code being entered in a preset time, an alarm will be transmitted to the monitoring centre.
Bogus Caller Button
If I get someone knocking at my front door that makes me feel vulnerable or at risk, I can press this button without them knowing what it is, this will then alert someone for assistance straight away. A great way to keep me safe.
If there is a threat of fire or smoke in my house this will send an emergency signal to the monitoring centre, to get me help as soon as possible. This helps ease my mind, particularly when I go to bed. It really does help me sleep through the night knowing that I'm safe.
I have some really useful equipment in my house, one great thing is nobody normally notices them as they are so discreet. Why not take some time to have a look through some of the devices that I use, these may change from time to time, depending on my needs - so pop back and look for updates.
What is Telecare?
Telecare is a service made up of personal and environmental sensors that enable people to remain safe and independent in their own home for longer. 24 hour monitoring ensures that, should an event occur, the information is acted upon immediately and the most appropriate response put in place.
Telecare is customisable to most individual’s situations. Here are just a few examples of some groups of people who have benefited from the implementation of a telecare package:
• Those who are vulnerable or at risk • Those with disabilities
• Those with learning difficulties • Those who live alone
• Those with sensory impairment • Those with limited mobility
• Those who are frail • Those who are at risk of falling
